Born in Kingsport, TN, on March 15, 1946, Linda spent her 75 years dedicated to God’s service beside her husband of 45 years, Harry Payne. Linda graduated from East Tennessee State in 1969 with a BS in Accounting, becoming an astute business woman who went on to found SouthCo Insurance and later, All Florida Truck Insurance where she stayed until her retirement.

Linda was Ordained by the Holiness Church of Jesus Christ in 1984 and proudly served as a minister, Sunday School teacher, and youth pastor. Known for her generous heart, Linda took in many people from all walks of life in need of help. She provided a home to some, encouragement to many, and love to all. Linda’s heart full of love for her family and friends was proof of her love for her savior, Jesus Christ. Linda went home to be with the Lord on January 30th, 2022, in Crestview, FL, where she was preceded in death by her parents, Maude and Charlie Greever, and her son, Ron Walker.

Linda is survived by her husband, Harry Payne, of Crestview Florida, her daughter, Rhonda Walker, of Crestview, FL; her daughter, Katrina Waldrop, of Walker, LA; and her son, Paul Payne, and his wife Hollis, of Silsbee, TX. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Amanda Richards of Pensacola, FL; Reanna Bozeman, and her husband, Brad, of Pensacola, FL; Sara Loyacano and her husband, Joseph, of New Orleans, LA; Belinda Roy and her husband, David, of Baker, FL; Carl Ellis and his wife, Dana, of Baker, FL; Haley Waldrop, of Baton Rouge, LA; and Nathan Waldrop, of Baton Rouge, LA; as well as several great-grandchildren: Lillian and Joseph II; Julieona and her husband, Michael; Jezreel; Tyler; Axle; and Noah, and one great-great grandson, Khyrin, as well as numerous other friends and relatives.

A memorial service for Linda will be held at Brackney Funeral Service in Crestview, FL on February 26th, 2022. Visitation will begin at 2 pm, with the service to begin at 3pm, with Reverend Lewis Wilson of Calvary Baptist Church of Crestview, FL, presiding.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Pensacola Breast Cancer Association or for live plants to be grown in her memory. Donations can be made via website PensacolaBreastCancerAssociation.com or by mailing a check to PBCA at PO Box 10695, Pensacola, FL 32524.

The family respectfully requests that all attendees wear a mask and follow CDC Guidelines due to health concerns of immediate family members.
