Myra Jean Thomas, 93 of Fort Walton Beach, Florida passed away Friday, April 7, 2023. Myra was born on December 23, 1929, in Parsons, Kansas to Clifford and Inez Searles.
Myra moved to Wichita, Kansas in 1967 where she received her bachelor’s degree in education with the Hayesville School System and taught until her retirement. After a fulfilling career in teaching, she then moved to Fort Walton Beach Florida in 2007 and has been a resident ever since.
Myra is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Nelson Thomas, two sons, Charles Landreth Thomas and David Nelson Thomas.
Myra is survived by her two sons, Bruce Edward Thomas and William Paul Thomas and her daughter, Myra Jo Thomas, along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Brackney Funeral Service.

Jean was a very sweet sister-in-law to our family and deserves to have the BEST seat in Heaven. I loved her very much and I miss her. She raised a wonderful family. My love goes out to her family. Love to all, Auntie Bethie

I loved Jean from the time I first met her. She came to teach in Buffalo, Kansas when I was a senior in high school. She deserves the best Place in Heaven. We will all miss her. Love , Auntie Bethie
