Nicky Edward Basinger 68, of Crestview, Florida passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, after fighting a courageous five-year battle against cancer.
Nick was born on September 8, 1954, in Evansville, Indiana to Henry E. and M. Louise Basinger. He graduated from Bellevue High School in Bellevue, Pennsylvania in June 1972. Nick then enlisted in the Air Force on July 10, 1972, and proudly served until retiring on August 31, 1995, from Eglin AFB in Florida.
He served in his military career in Southeast Asia, Alaska, England, Saudia Arabia and Florida. Nick always showed a strong sense of duty and professional pride during his military career.
Nick loved his family, friends and pets. He enjoyed anything about planes and space travel. He has an abundance of common sense and an awesome sense of humor.
Nick is survived by his wife Barbara, Barbara’s daughter and son in law, Amy and Michael Hagy and grandson Andrew. Sister and brother-in-law, Vicky Lynn and Joe Kovacs. Sister-in-Law, Patricia Laughman and her husband, Jim. Brothers in Law, Robert Brodbeck and his wife Kathy and Michael Brodbeck and his wife, Deb and Nieces and nephews.
Nick is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Louise Basinger and his brother Wesley.
Interment with military honors will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

So sorry for your loss. Nick and I were in the same class and graduated together from BHS. I never saw him again after graduation. I always remember he was a good guy in school.

Sincerest and deepest condolences to Barb and all of Nick’s family. I know he put up a courageous fight and Barb was his warrior, nurse, and advocate through it all. Nick’s sense of humor and wonderful personality will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Hi…Mr. Basinger was buried next to my Daddy, Roy John Cobb. I planted a rose for Mr. Basinger at his tombstone on Friday, May 17th. I figured they are neighbors and I’m sure they met in Heaven. My condolences to the Basinger family.
