February 02, 1944~March 26, 2024

Richard J. Andrews, age 80 of Crestview Florida passed away peacefully with his daughter at his side March 26, 2024.

Richard “Rich” was an adventurous soul who loved animals, the ocean, and turning life into a great adventure!  As a true native of Florida, he was literally born in the ocean of Port St. Joe! As a child he and his siblings lived a childhood filled with adventurous memories with their mother Noelle.  At one point, Rich, and his siblings lived on a 100 plus foot Schooner on the Miami river.
Rich was a talented board diver when he was young and won competitions doing so. He was a skilled carpenter and a talented musician. His love of photography was immense and he would have his camera in his hands anytime he could.  He loved playing the drums and most of his life was spent creating for himself or for others in one way or another.
At one point, his thirst for travel brought him north to Massachusetts (brrr) where he met the mother of his daughter.  After a few years, he moved back to the south as the Massachusetts cold was not compatible with his Florida soul.
Rich was always up for an adventure, even as age crept in and his life was more limited.  He would love going to the beach to watch the waves crash in, or out to eat. He especially loved a good shrimp dinner, applesauce and Chocolate milk!
He was a lover of all animals and his most recent cat, TomTom brought him much joy and companionship.
He spent 21 years with his best friend and beloved Mary Francis Guthman who passed away November 30, 2015.  He stayed by her side and cared for her every moment.  We are positive he will be reunited with her in spirit.
Rich and his sister Naomi had an especially close friendship and they would talk every single day. They both have a dry and clever sense of humor and would lighten up eachothers day with every conversation.
Friends:
This notice would be remiss if Rich’s dear friends Jim and Joyce were not mentioned-  Rich worked with Jim and over the years a close friendship developed.  It felt more like extended family to each of them, and Rich was thankful to have them in his life.  Rich’s dear friend Misty brought sunshine to his world and he enjoyed her company for the years that he knew her.
Thank you to all of his friends that brought joy, sunshine and adventure into Rich’s life.
He leaves behind:
Jennifer Marie Andrews (daughter)
Shelby Victoria Lynch (Granddaughter)
Naomi Andrews Halihan, (Sister)
Jonathan (Jon) Andrews (Brother)
Robert (Bob) Michael Hartman (Brother)
