My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Sammy John. He was a bonus father to my husband and I. A best friend, a supervisor, a mentor, and the best grandfather we could ever asked for, for our girls. To our BawBaw, we love you forever and always and we will miss you here on earth. – Amanda, Billiam, and Lilli

Sam and I have been best friends since we were 5 years old. We smoked rabbit tobacco, chewed Indian cane and rode bicycles a million miles. Growing up we chased and shot a truckload of deer with our daddies, Pappy and Dog Man. Loved him much. Jerry Miller

Sam was loved as I loved my brothers and a great space of emptiness is around us. We shared books and I will forever miss that and discussing politics. The Atlanta Braved and Florida Gators lost a great fan.
Fly high with the Angel’s Sam.

Sammy taught me a lot about hunting, fishing and a lot more activities that I needed to know more about. He was a good man who loved his mom, dad, brother and sisters. I hope that he is in Heaven resting comfortably in the arms of Jesus. Amen.

Sam was a dear friend, though our paths have not crossed for several years.
I new him as a gentle spirit and a peace maker. His love for deer hunting was unsurpassed except perhaps by his buddy Jerry Miller. I was blessed to talk with Sam several times in the last two weeks. He was looking forward to getting back home to Baker.
To: Nyles and his family, Larry, Betty, their girls. To: Deborah, Ben, Jonni, Wilma Jane, Mark and family. Linda and I send our sincere condolences.
To all his dear friends young and old, my son Jason, Rusty, Jeff, Jerry. We loved him too. And prayed for him.

A true outdoorsman and craftsman! Sam and I shared many happy days in the woods and on the rivers. He loved to share his knowledge to all of us and took particular care to pass it on to younger generations. We know he has been accepted into the Happy Hunting Grounds.

Thank you all for the sweet condolences. That man was my anchor for the past 20 years. And I learned so many things from him. (Whether I wanted to or not lol). A kinder person, you will never meet. There will never be another like him!
