Bruce Elmer Crawford was born January 19, 1951 in Laurel Hill, FL. His earthly life ended February 1, 2020. He was 69 years old. Bruce was the 6th of 9 children born to Gresham and Myrtle Crawford of Laurel Hill. Bruce was married for 47 years to the love of his life Susan Farrior Crawford. His children and grandchildren were his joy. He was totally devoted to serving the Lord. He served as a deacon at South Ebenezer Baptist Church for many years and was always ready to do lay preaching. Many people of his community have been blessed through his love and generous heart. He used his time of being sick to talk about his Lord and Savior to many of the people he encountered at doctor’s appointments, testing and during his hospital stays. Bruce was employed by the Florida Dept. of Corrections doing maintenance and construction, he was also a member of Gideon’s international.
Bruce is preceded in death by his parents, Gresham and Myrtle Crawford, four brothers, Billy Joe Crawford, Clifford Crawford, Buddy Crawford, Alton Crawford and one sister Becky Givens. He is survived by his loving wife Susan Crawford, two sons, Bryan G Crawford, Andrew B Crawford (Juli-Anna), one daughter, Bethany Elliott (Jason), one brother, Wilbur Crawford, two sisters, Marie Bowen, Dianne Inmon (Randy), six grandchildren and a very special part of our family, Betty Prater.
Services will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at South Ebenezer Baptist Church, beginning at 2 pm with Pastors Mark McClard, Richard Martin and Wayne Johnson officiating. Burial to follow at Old Ebenezer Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 4, 2020 from 6 to 8 pm at Brackney Funeral Service.

My heart is heavy yet I know the angels are rejoicing. Bruce was A fine Christian, Garren and I loved him like a son. Bruce and I recently shared many past memories. Susan and family your in my prayers and may God comfort you in knowing Bruce is at home and no pain to bear. Love you all.

Our hearts are heavy but we know Bruce is in a better place. Our thoughts and prayers our with his family during this difficult time. We loved Bruce and he was a great friend to my dad who passed away just eight months ago. We are glad that he is with Jesus and will suffer no more and he and dad can once again be together. I am so sorry to hear about Bruce! He was a good and loyal faithful servant to our Lord! He was a good man, and he will be missed by many! I grew up with the Crawford family. Dianne and Marie were good friends during school and after. I know the heartache they will all feel! God bless the entire family!!
