Charles Robert Peaden
“Butch”
September 21, 1944-September 16, 2024
Charles Robert “Butch” Peaden was called to his eternal home with Heavenly Father on September 16, 2024, at 79 years old. Butch was born on September 21, 1944 in Mobile, Alabama, to Eva Mae and Benjamin Justice Peaden.
Butch was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His entire life was proudly rooted in the city of Crestview, Florida. Butch was the only son and middle child between his sisters Barbara and Betty. As a boy he was his father’s shadow, tinkering, gardening, building, and eventually working side by side. He loved to travel, water ski, and fish with his Uncle Jack. 1963 was a big year for Butch. He graduated from Crestview High, married the love of his life Dolores Elliott, and opened a service station with his father Ben, Peaden’s American Oil. The service station on Main Street was open for 9 years. During that time, he became the father of his two beautiful girls Charles Ann and Tracy. He was certified in Bear Front-End Alignment, in 1967. After the 9 years, Butch and Ben decided to change gears and open Peaden’s Auto Parts on the south end of Main Street. The parts store was open for 27 years. Butch remained in auto parts sales until his retirement in 2010. Anyone that knew Butch knows that he loved family the most. Before and after retirement his life revolved around his family. His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His love is an everlasting legacy to uphold and instill in his memory.
He is preceded in death by his father Benjamin, mother Eva, and sister Barbara. Butch is survived by his wife Dolores, daughters Charles Ann Love (Rocky), Tracy Styron (Mark); his sister Betty Howell; his three grandchildren Candis Sharon (Josh), Heather Overstreet (Jason), and Haleigh Moore (Vada); and his eight great-grandchildren Ashley, Jase, Madison, Kenzi, Karli, Justice, Judge, and Haddie. Along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
His celebration of life will be held at Brackney Funeral Home on Friday, September 20, 2024. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 3:00 pm with the service to follow at 4:00 pm. Burial will follow at Live Oak Park Memorial Cemetery.

We have known Butch and his family most of our adult lives. He and his family are notable members of our community. If you spent time with him you were his friend, his kind spirit would be enough to show you why his family is the way they are. I know that he will never be forgotten by the children who loved and respected him.

What can I say! I have known this man literally my entire life. I knew him to be a good man. A fine man. To know him was to have a friend. To be in need, made him a friend. His life was marked by good things. Sorry I was unable to attend today’s service. It was absolutely by no means, a reflection of our friendship. Loved Butch Peaden. One of the greatest men I ever knew.
