My sweet cousin. Many memories of you growing up whilst visiting your granny, my great aunt Dora. You could definitely tell some great and funny stories to a kid and have me laughing. I do know you’re in a better place.

Good ole Mr Dannie…
The man loved my granny like his own momma. For many years from walking age he’s known me and my siblings it never failed to catch him at Tom Thumb or just in a random place you just never know where you would see him. He was definitely a friend of the Carroll bunch. I’m so lost for words and so heartbroken over this it hadn’t been long since I had seen him when I was pulling in the laurel Hill Tom Thumb. I remember all them nights he’d be running security at the Icehouse. I don’t think many people got out of line just because they seen his big tall self working there. I’m sure gonna miss you Mr.Dannie (I always called him by DownTown Dannie Brown..) an inside joke between us that made us laugh. It’s sad to see such a wonderful man leave from here. My hearts and prayers go out to all his family. Heaven sure gained a good man. Kiss my granny on the cheek for me and hug her for me as well Mr. Dannie now y’all are together up there. I know she’s shocked but happy to see you again. 🙁 <3 one day I will see you all again. Until then Rest In Heaven sweety.

IN LOVING MEMORY
Dannie E. Brown

I’ve finished life’s chores assigned to me,
So put me on a boat headed out to sea.
Please send along my fishing pole
For I’ve been invited to the fishin’ hole.
Where evert date is a day to fish,
To fill your heart with every wish.
Don’t worry, or feel sad for me,
I’m fishin’ with the master of the sea.
We will miss each other for awhile,
But you will come and bring your smile.
That won’t be long you will see,
Till we’re together you and me.
To all of those that think of me,
Be happy as I go out to sea.
If other wonder why I’m missin’
Just tell ‘em I’ve gone fishin’

I always looked up to you Uncle Dannie. You were such a kind loving man. I will never forget our midnight talks and the insight you gave. You never pushed me and you always seemed so happy to welcome me in. You were an amazing uncle I was a lucky girl to have such a loving giant of a man to watch over me in darkness all these years. I will always be great full for the times you were there when I was in trouble. You saved me a time or two and I know I am not the only one you saved over the years. I just hope you knew you were a savior to so many. I will always love you and forever be missing you. Rest in peace uncle Dannie.
