Gwendal E Green

Gwendal E. Green, age 76, of Laurel Hill, Florida passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family on April 17, 2021.
Gwen was born September 9, 1944 in Laurel Hill, Florida.
Gwen studied to become a professional hairdresser at the age of 18 and was the owner of La’Sissy’s hair salon for over 40 years before retiring. Gwen loved her clients who became her friends and family. Her clients had standing appointments every 15-30 minutes apart, every week, for all of those many years. She and Mickey also owned Mickey’s Grocery in Baker, Fl for 25 years.
Gwen is proceeded in death by her parents, Ernest Grimes & Ada McCart, as well her special aunts, Lucille McCart Gilmore, and Gladys Powell. Gwen is survived by her husband of 52 years, Mickey Green, Sr., her children, Jeff (Reba) Jones, Jennifer (Danny) Cook, Mickey Green, Jr., Christi (Ricky) Collinsworth, her 12 grandchildren, Josh (Chelsea) Windham, T.J. (Mercedes) Jones, Niki (Jeff Johnson) Green, Tyler (Sarah) Windham, Trey (Caitlyn) Green, Chloe Hart (Cody), Brinn Jones, Trent Collinsworth, Daniel (Whitney) Cook, Sarah Cook, Clay Barlow, Ollie Green, her eleven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, numerous special friends, including her ex-husband Harold Jones.
Gwen fought a valiant and inspiring 17-year battle against cancer.
The family would like to thank Dr. Terek Eldawy, his nurse Erica, and the entire staff at Sacred Heart for their gentle caring over these many years.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Visitation: April 21, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00pm at Brackney Funeral Service located at 480 James Lee Blvd., Crestview, FL 32539
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 22, 2021 at New Beginnings Baptist Church at 11:00am located at 412 W James Lee Blvd, Crestview, FL 32526.
Burial will follow at Almarante Cemetery in Laurel Hill, Florida
