James Dee Doster, 68 of Baker Florida, passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center due to complications from congestive heart failure.  Jimmy was born on November 15, 1952, in Gastonia, North Carolina.  He spent most of his life in Gastonia before moving to Campobello, South Carolina.  He was a retired self-employed sheetrock installer.  Jimmy moved to Baker and made it his home in January of 2021.  He was a proud member of Milligan Assembly of God in Baker Florida.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Martha “Nell” Doster and John Johnson, and a younger brother, Steve Doster, of Dallas NC.

Jimmy is survived by his three daughters, Jackie Bumgardner (Brian and granddaughters Taylor and Linsey) of Baker FL;  Jessica Rockwell (granddaughters Annissa & Hayden) of Crestview FL;  Jennifer Doster (grandson Juliaun and granddaughter Roxie) of Anchorage AK.  His three sons, Jeremiah Doster of Dallas NC;  Joseph Doster (Jessica and grandsons Westin & Elam) of Cherryville NC;  James Doster (grandson James) of Gastonia NC.  His youngest brother, Richard Doster of Dallas NC.  His sister in law, Debra Doster of Dallas NC and her children; Chris Doster (Kelly and great nieces Clara and Katy, and a great nephew Clay) of Bessemer City NC.  Jason Doster (Shannon and great nephew Gage and his wife Natalie) all of Dallas NC.  Jimmy had several close friends that were closer than family to him.  His brothers from another mother and lifelong friends Kevin Mumm, his wife Prissy, and Brad Lykins.  His dearest and closest confidant, sister from another mister, Deborah Thompson.

A celebration of life for Jimmy will be arranged at a later date.
