John Clark Cosson, 89, of Baker Fl, passed into glory early Thursday morning, May 30th in Crestview, Fl. John was born in Laurel Hill, Fl on March 5, 1935, to Emmitt and Minni Mae Cosson. He graduated from Baker High School in 1953 and went on to serve in the United States Marine Corp from 1953 – 1962. After his service, he began a career as an Insurance Investigator in Albany, GA. He returned to Baker in 2010 where he spent his last years enjoying family and friends.

John was preceded in death by wives, Doris, Mary, and Joyce, son Tommy Cosson, sister Carol Chunn, and brother Donald Cosson.

He is survived by his sons, Timmy and Tracy Cosson of Coeur d Alene, Idaho, stepson David Cox of New Smyrna Beach, Fla. Stepdaughter Angie Lewis of Floral City, Fla, step daughter Jennifer Moore of Arlington, Virginia, sister Jeanne Langley of Baker, Fl, sister Juanita Singletary, (husband Joel) of Lynn Haven, Fl, 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

You can be assured that John was a man’s man! He especially enjoyed fishing and was a great outdoor companion. John was a lifelong Florida Gator fan. He also spent many Friday nights watching his Baker Gators battle on the gridiron. He will be missed by all his friends that joined him there.  His sense of humor and attention to detail will be missed.

A memorial service will be held on June 8th 11am at Brackney Funeral Home in Crestview, Fl.
Interment will be at Andersonville National Cemetery, Andersonville, GA.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Marine Corps Association Foundation.

John will be greatly missed.
