Judith G (Judy) Fields

September 14, 1944~April 05, 2024
Judith Gail Fields, 79, of Crestview, Florida, left this earth on April 5, 2024, to join her Heavenly Father. Judy was born in Winter Garden, Florida, on September 14, 1944.Her father was in the Air Force, which eventually brought them to Crestview.
She was a Christian and lived a Christ-like life of selfless service to others. Her faith never waivered, regardless of circumstances. She’s a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Days Saints.
Judy worked full-time while going back to school for her master’s degree in counseling and psychology. She then worked for the Department of Children and Families in Okaloosa County as an investigator. She was extremely dedicated to her work and eventually accepted a position as a trainer for other DCF workers in the state.
In 2005, she moved to Groveland, as she had always loved and missed being in central Florida. She resided there until 2022, when she returned to Crestview to live with her daughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jeanne and L.C. Skipper, her brother Gerald R. Skipper, her husband of 32 years, Samuel E. Fields.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Fields Capps, of Crestview, and her grandchildren, Cole Alan Capps, and Raley Elizabeth Capps.
Judy’s wish was to forego having a funeral service. However, her family will still hold a time of visitation. Her favorite color was red, so everyone is encouraged to wear something red to honor her memory.
A Gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, from 5:00PM until 7:00PM, at Brackney Funeral Service.
Judy will be laid to rest at Ebro Cemetery with her husband and parents.

Judy was such a blessing in my life, she was there for me. Sharing loving counsel, when I needed it. One day she called me to say God told her to call me and give me a blessing and I wasn’t going to say no to it because I would be taking blessings away from her. And that was that. With loving grace she was there for so many of us at church. And watching her serve as the President of our Church women’s group was such a testimony of who she was. Giving , kind, loving daughter of our Heavenly Father. Rest in Peace our sweet sister! Love Donna Dewberry

Judy was, and is, one of my most cherished friends. Her goodness and faith led our family through some of our darkest times. Her desire to be a force for good in the world blessed so many. I miss her dearly. I hope to emulate her beautiful soul in my own life. I hope she is surrounded by her loving human family who has already passed on as well as her beautiful furry family, whom she loved so dearly.

Judy could be counted on to lift others and possessed keen discernment. She was a loyal friend through personal trial. She was a trainer professionally and my mentor with Florida Child and Family Services. She served as a spiritual leader as president of the Relief Society. She gave of herself fully to her sacred calling in serving the sisters and families of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Judy’s legacy lives on for me and so many. My prayers are for comfort and peace for Jennifer and her precious children, especially in the coming days.

My deceased wife Regina Greene-Wolfe was a good friend of Judy. She helped Regina during a tough time in her life. Judy made a great impression on me too, and I only met her twice. My condolences to the family.

Judy and I discovered we are related through our genealogy research. We never met, but we loved corresponding about our mutual Raley ancestors.

My deepest sympathies to Judy’s family and friends.
