Lita M. Jones

Lita M. Jones, age 95, of Holt, passed away Tuesday, November 17. She was born in Gaskin, Florida on January 21, 1925 to Dr. Willie G. Spires & Charlotte Sturkie Spires. Lita was raised in Gaskin where she attended elementary school and then graduated from Walton High School. After High School, she followed in her father's footsteps in medicine. Lita attended Nursing School at Sacred Heart with the Sisters of Mercy. She then had a long career as a Registered Nurse with Okaloosa Memorial Hospital and North Okaloosa Medical Center, where she retired. She and her husband moved to Holt in 1958, where she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Holt.
Preceding her in death are her husband Ova “Tuck” Jones and a son Ralph Harlan Jones.

Survivors include 4 children Henry Gregor Morrison, Laura Jones Paul, Mary Jones Jones and
Patricia Jones Arnett
9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, November 20, at 11:00AM at Eight Mile Cemetery with Pastor Mel Coon officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6PM until 8PM, Thursday at the funeral home. The family requests in lieu of flowers, that contributions be made to The Baptist Children's Home.
