He has 4 grandchildren Andrea Adams Patten and Anthony Patten, Dylan Justice Currie, Destiny Summer Currie, and Mikel Aaron Currie. He has 2 great grandchildren Emily Patten and Elijah Patten.
Mike was a life-long resident of Crestview, Florida. He was a respected and loved business man from a very early age, working for his uncle at the age of 19 and opening his very own full service gas station, Mike’s Spur Station, at the age of 22. Not long after, Mike opened Crestview’s very first automobile detail service center. Later, Mike opened an auto mechanic service center, where he performed a full range of auto services and specialized in foreign trucks and cars. There was no problem he couldn’t solve. He treated every customer with kindness and fairness. He always said,†It’s the little things that make you or break you.â€
He was the apex hunter and fisherman. His feats with a rifle during hunting season are legendary. His adventures on Yellow River will be told for ages. He was happiest fishing on the river and taking his daily nap on his boat with his love Irene. There was no deer he couldn’t track, no turkey he couldn’t call, and no fish he couldn’t catch. There was no shot too far and no target too fast. He was truly what every outdoor sportsman dreamed to become.
Mike was loved by all his family and friends. He was a very gentle man with a kind soul. He was a believer in, “If you have nothing good to say, say nothing at all.†He always had a way to make people smile and laugh with his one-liners and words of wisdom.
