Patty Griffin

August 29, 1953~February 01, 2024

Patricia “Patty” Griffin 70, of Crestview, Florida passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024. Patty was born on August 29, 1953 at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida to Pasco and Doris Madden.

Patty was retired with the Civil Service in the Finance Department and an active member & integral part of the First Independent Baptist Church where her husband pastored. She was a woman of faith, and strong resolve, always strong in the face of problems and solved them with acute precision, an unbroken will power that most people can’t carry. Patty was a loving wife, mother with compassion to spare, she would tell you to suck it up and push forward when you felt weak and defeated, but be there when you need to cry. She could still to this day do the work of three men, but she would have to slow down.

Patty is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Chuck Griffin Sr., three sons, Chuck Griffin Jr., Joseph Griffin and Jacob Griffin, two sisters, Regina Whitehead and Marlene Pekrul, ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024 beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Live Oak Park Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Ren Smith officiating.

Patti was such a great woman and neighbor. Who carried her faith accordingly. She will be truly missed. Our hearts are filled with such sadness and grief. April and I are continually praying for the healing of her passing. That God will continue to keep Chuck and his family in his arms.

Brother Chuck:
Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of sorrow and grief. Our hearts are broken-Patty was such a sweet and special sister to us. May God’s love and grace fill your hearts and bring you peace.
“ Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11: 28-30 KJV

Sister Paty was a tremendous blessing.

Brother Chuck preached our wedding in September of 1994 and remained a great example to us in their marriage and love for each other.

Sister Paty kept in touch with us through social media where she was always an encouragement.

She will be greatly missed in many , many ways.

Prayers for Pastor Chuck and the whole church family.
