Paul Richard Thellmann 68, of Crestview, Florida passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 peacefully at home with family at his side. Paul was born on November 6, 1955 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Richard and Rose Thellmann. Sometime after graduation in South Bend, Indiana Paul proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corp.  After his time service commitment,  Paul then enlisted in the United States Airforce to retire with many medals, awards and good conduct. Paul was noted for his outstanding service and support in Desert Storm and then was stationed to our area where he made Crestview his home.

Before his military retirement, Paul opened Sportsman Tattoo in Crestview, Florida. starting location was where CVS is to then move to the house at the bottom of the overpass. Paul put a lot of passion into creating his tattoos and making others vision a reality. He retired as a Aircraft Structural Maintenance Craftsman in the United State Air Force and went full time tattoo artist. He was very loved and will be missed by all.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Richard Thellmann and Rose Albrecht.

Paul is survived by his daughters, Melissa Thellmann and Rosi Stelt, his brother, Steven Page Thellmann, his sisters, Sara Ruth Masters, Lori Jill Failla and Luann Marie Cheyney and six grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Brackney Funeral Service.

I was so sad to read about Paul. I went to Clay High School with him. We were in art class together and he was so very talented!! We dated too. I can only imagine how creative his tattoos would be. He certainly has earned his wings after all the service he paid to our country. Rest easy Paul, fly high and thank you for your service. God bless your family who will miss you dearly. Katherine

I am so saddened to learn of Paul’s death. My deepest sympathy to his wife and his children. I send my deepest condolences to all of his family and hope you will feel some peace in knowing that many others share in your sadness and grief. Our deepest sympathy to all of you!
