Stephen LaDel Fountain 66, passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 12, 2024.
LaDel was born August 20, 1957 in Crestview, Florida to Delwin and Gladys Kennedy Fountain. He was a resident of Baker, Florida. He worked as a brick and block mason for 40+ years. The last 27 of those years, he worked with General Masonry until he was forced to retire due to health issues.
LaDel recently served as Commissioner with the Blackman Fire Department. He had a love for racing especially dirt track racing with his friends. He couldn’t wait till college football season, rooting for his Florida State Seminoles.
LaDel is preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Kennedy Fountain.
LaDel is survived by his wife, Tracy Bass Fountain of 27 years, two daughters, Emerald (Christopher) Turner of Savannah, Georgia and Clover Fountain of Baker, Florida, his father, Delwin (Ina) Fountain of Baker, Florida. and numerous cousins, friends and extended family.
A funeral will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024 beginning at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Brackney Funeral Service with Pastor Mike McVay officiating. Burial to follow at Live Oak Park Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 12:30 p.m. ~ 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
